A Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro (CCDRC) iniciou um exercício de reflexão e discussão, que visa definir a estratégia do Centro de Portugal até 2030, pretendendo que este seja um processo amplamente participado pelos agentes da região.

É fundamental perceber os constrangimentos e os desafios que a região enfrenta, mas também delinear já ideias e projetos para a ação.​ 

A Visão que é proposta à discussão aponta os seguintes desígnios para a região: 

i) reforçar a competitividade nacional e internacional e consolidar um modelo de inovação territorial e socialmente inclusiva; 

ii) trabalhar e promover a capacitação para a resiliência dos territórios mais vulneráveis e mais carenciados de energia demográfica; 

iii) liderar a evolução para uma sociedade mais sustentável, promovendo a inovação e transição para a economia circular, integrando a emergência climática e as suas implicações em termos de sistemas produtivos e organização territorial; 

iv) colocar estrategicamente o seu sistema urbano ao serviço de um modelo territorial que evolua em combinação virtuosa entre territórios competitivos e inovadores e territórios mais deprimidos; 

v) organizar a oferta de qualificações e competências que a sua transformação estrutural exige.

​A primeira versão de trabalho do documento “Visão estratégia para a Região Centro 2030" foi apresentada na sessão de lançamento desta discussão, decorrida no dia 13 de janeiro.

Como anunciado nessa altura, decorre até ao dia 27 de janeiro o período de recolha de contributos para a construção coletiva de uma estratégia regional para a próxima década, para o Centro de Portugal.

"FCT and LIP have agreed to promote a PhD program in particle physics and related scientific and technological fields relevant to Portuguese participation in CERN. Two competitions will open in 2020."

In 2020, two competitions will be opened, in February and September, and in each of them two areas will be considered:

Particle and Astroparticle Physics and associated scientific domains
Technologies associated with Portuguese participation in CERN and its transfer to society
The fellowships are intended to support doctorates with work programs which are wholly or partly carried out in a national institution (national or mixed scholarships respectively). Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD program in high energy physics or related fields at a Portuguese university and host LIP or any R&D center with a protocol previously established with LIP under the PhD Scholarship Program. Portugal - CERN.

This program is part of the IDPASC Doctoral Program in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.

More details about the contests will be announced in the second half of January 2020.

Description

Under the Agreement between FCT and ESA, ESO e EMBL for on-the-job traineeships at this International Organization, FCT announces that the call for expression of interest for traineeships at ESA, ESO and EMBL (BEST Fellowships, art. 10 of the National Rules) is open until 16 December 2019, 5pm (Lisbon time).

Objectives

Advanced training of young Portuguese graduates in large International Scientific Organisations such as ESA, ESO and EMBL in areas where the competence of these organisations is worldwide known.
Applications with major relevance to Portugal are valued, appropriate namely to the thematic areas indicated by the industry, to the experiences and to the programs in which Portugal participates.
Candidates with relevant professional or scientific activity will also be valorized after completing their academic training.

Beneficiaries

Traineeships at ESA, ESO and EMBL are for candidates with a bachelor's degree or master's degree - obtained less than 6 years ago - and a doctorate degree - less than 3 years ago - in scientific and technological fields, where the competence of ESA, ESO and EMBL is internationally recognized.

Eligibility Conditions

This call for expressions of interest supports BEST traineeships (art. 10 of the National Rules). The duration of the traineeship is annual, renewable up to a maximum of two years, upon approval by FCT.
Each candidate must indicate in order of preference the training opportunities to which they apply.
Applicants must be fluent in English.

Funding

Fellowships for International Scientific and Technological Organizations (BEST) with the following components:

Expression of interest period

The period of expression of interest by potential candidates for traineeships at ESA, ESO and EMBL runs until 16 December 2019, 5pm (Lisbon time).

Evaluation

Applications will be evaluated by an Evaluation Panel, composed by representatives of the industry and the national scientific community.

• Certificate of residency in Portugal
