EFFECT Project kicks off: "EFFECT Project kicks off
December 17 2015
The development of pedagogics and didactics for higher education teaching is an area of growing importance for universities. The EFFECT project (European Forum for Enhanced Collaboration in Teaching), a three-year project co-funded by the EU, assesses the feasibility of a European level structure that would support the enhancement of university teaching.
The project draws upon good practice that already exists in European institutions and will probe its transferability in other disciplinary, institutional and national contexts.
The EFFECT kick-off meeting on 7-8 December 2015 in Brussels brought together representatives from project partners and affiliates. During the meeting, the basic work plan of the project was discussed with specific focus on the first year. In the initiation phase of the project, good practice approaches with regard to both institutional strategies and teaching enhancement materials will be mapped and the concrete needs of the stakeholders and target groups of a potential European Forum will be further scrutinised.
Special attention will be given to staff development so as to bring together and further develop a range of teaching enhancement resources to be tested in the pilot phase using different modes of delivery. The project will also develop a strategy support package for higher education institutions. In addition, it will discuss possibilities to develop and sustain a European structure dedicated to enhancing learning and teaching.
The next meeting of the project partners will take place in spring 2016. For further information on the project, please click here, or contact effect@eua.be"
