EUA launches new Learning & Teaching Initiative: "EUA launches new Learning & Teaching Initiative
02 December 2016
EUA has launched its new Learning & Teaching Initiative with the aim of putting more focus on the topic at European universities. Building on EUA’s policy work on learning and teaching, including participation in the Bologna Process and contributions to EU processes, the newly-launched Initiative intends to set a more sustained approach for dialogue and cooperation with EUA’s members on this crucial topic.
An integral part of the Initiative activities will be the first European Learning & Teaching Forum scheduled for 28 and 29 September 2017 in Paris. The event, organised in collaboration with the Conférence des présidents d’université (CPU), will facilitate the exchange of experiences on learning and teaching in higher education. In order to prepare and complement the Forum, EUA will organise thematic peer groups made up of its members that will discuss critical issues in learning and teaching. The call for participation is now open and the deadline is 16 January 2017.
The outputs of the thematic peer groups and the Forum will feed into EUA’s future activities in the area of learning and teaching, including its inputs into the discussions of the Bologna Follow-up Group, the Bologna Process Ministerial meeting and Communiqué 2018. With this Initiative, EUA hopes to provide its members with opportunities for peer-learning and strengthen its voice in ongoing policy debates through direct feedback from members on changing pedagogical landscapes.
