Banks launch Education for Competitiveness Initiative - University World News: "The Islamic Development Bank and the World Bank have launched an ‘Education for Competitiveness Initiative’, or E4C, to help equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to support economies and societies, with a primary focus on the Middle East and North Africa.
The E4C initiative was launched on 10 October, according to Islamic Development Bank website
No Middle East and North Africa, or MENA, country is among the top performers in the Global Competitiveness Index 2014-2015, which gives strong weighting to education and its effects on economic growth.
The educational component of the index focuses on the quality of education, scientific content, the system of managing universities and schools, and the extent of vocational and practical training for students to meet the labour market demands."
